Consult with communications firms, design agencies, public and non-profit organizations, and independent businesses to strategize and conceptualize solutions that adhere to clients’ missions. Products include but are not limited to brand identity, content strategy, social media and marketing campaigns, design packages, website development, print publications, exhibition design, and event environmental signage and merchandise.

Build strong relationships with colleagues of all management and experience levels, as well as external partners in order to align on projects effectively and maintain a high rapport of trust and respect for the design team.
Developed design team’s organizational structure to grow from three employees to seven within two years. Identified and hired new positions to cover the department’s missing needs including Director of Branding & Design, Project Manager, Administrative Coordinator, and two additional designers. Resulted in bringing 80% contracted and 20% internal work to 10% contracted and 90% internal, saving $20,000 annually.
Developed systems for the design team to maintain brand consistency and timeliness across all projects and products. Systems include: request forms and project management tools on Monday.com; file organization and management on Google Drive; brainstorming and collaboration tools on Miro; social media templates and toolkits in Adobe Creative Cloud; and subject-matter-expert design leads.
Co-lead marketing efforts with Senior Director of Brand Marketing to advertise Color Of Change through unique opportunities including in- and out-of home ad placements, partnerships and influencer strategy, festival and event immersion, and curated merchandise development.
Work closely with Social Media and Communications Directors to identify top-performing content across all social platforms. Create templates and toolkits for social and web graphics to ensure maximum audience engagement during quick-turnaround rapid response moments. Strengthen brand presence by creating design guidelines for each issue area that Color Of Change undertakes.
Collaborate with campaign managers to create email marketing and digital SMS/MMS materials to educate audiences about issues impacting Black communities, as well as microsites and resources to learn more and act towards effective change.

Won 11 awards over four years for a range of products, topics, and materials including an annual report, a brochure design, an explainer video, and a company-wide and peer-voted Excellence in Innovation Award.
Spearheaded design direction for brand and campaign development. Process included market research and user testing, mood board development, style tile development, brand roll-out and materials production, post-production consumer analytics, and results-based product improvements.
Stayed up-to-date on web design trends, Section 508 & ADA Compliance for design accessibility, and industry-wide changes in order to maximize clients’ online presence. Developed new websites using UXUI practices and worked with digital project managers and content strategists to improve responsiveness, interactive elements, website usability, and SEO reach.
Developed culturally sensitive, strategically targeted materials that upheld clients’ proper voice and messaging. Materials included new websites and website refreshes, 500-page annual reports, user guides and publications, conference promotion and wayfinding materials, online and print newsletters, brochures in various sizes and page lengths, digital assets for websites, static and animated social media graphics, and static and interactive infographics.

Co-created online platform and social media presence empowering Filipino-Americans to embrace their distinct identities and connect with their ancestral origins. Vendored at festivals and events to educate attendees about Filipino culture.
Co-created supper club dining experience showcasing the depth and complexities of Filipino cuisine—using food as an avenue to share stories about growing up as a Filipina immigrant in America.

NDB+DC & Broccoli City Present Collaborate & Thrive: A Speaker Series on Urban Wellness, 2016: Collaborated with Broccoli City as part of week-long festival to host speaker event showcasing urban wellness through health, lifestyle, and culture; three-hour event welcomed approximately 200 attendees. Worked closely with DC community to feature speakers working to bridge wellness gap in DC, secure sponsorship with local restaurant icon &pizza, and host at a venue run by local art duo No Kings Collective.
NDB+DC Speaker and Food Series, 2015: One of seven curators to ideate, organize, and execute event that showcased venerable Filipino American, immigrant, and minority community leaders in the DC area. Organized and managed culinary component by connecting with immigrant-owned restaurateurs, securing vendors, coordinating day-of food preparations, and processing reimbursement allocations post-event. Created all event design assets including social media marketing graphics and posters, Eventbrite page, speaker slides, print-based programs, and environmental ephemera.

Led the development of public programs by building partnerships with businesses, negotiating contracts, creating budgets, filing inventory orders, supervising interns, marketing events through print, web, and social channels, conducting day-of coordination, and executing post-event follow-up.
